We are an established family-run business constructing orchard canopies, netting windbreaks and shelters. We operate in and around the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and South Auckland regions. Most of our client structures are on kiwifruit orchards, although we also work with clients who grow other crops such as avocadoes and berries.  Work is varied between large and small jobs, and we've got some major projects underway.   POSITION AVAILABLE - Crop Protection WORKER

Full Time - Permanent, Based in Western Bay of Plenty

Team environment - working outdoors.

Pay Range $22-$27/hr 

We are looking for a reliable, motivated person to perform general construction and labouring work within one of our Crop Protection Structure teams.  You will assist in the construction and repair of crop protection structures and orchard canopies; working with shelter cloth, fencing wire, rope, steel cables, poles and heavy machinery; as well as a variety of hand and power tools. Experience in erecting Artificial Shelters would be an advantage, although an applicant with a history in Farm Fencing or Kiwifruit Structures would be considered also.

You will need your own transport and be prepared to work away from home for short periods (if required). No weekend work.

Wages will be based on your competencies and experience. 

Applicants must:

Ø  Be highly motivated, energetic with a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to learn as you go.

Ø  Love working in a team.

Ø  Be honest, reliable and punctual.

Ø  Be able to follow directions and willing to complete tasks to a high standard.

Ø  Be physically fit and healthy, able to lift heavy equipment.

Ø  Be comfortable working outdoors all year round and able to work at heights up to 8m.

Ø  Have a clear understanding of the safety hazards of working at heights and working around heavy machinery.

Ø  Be drug-free.

Ø  Have own transport and a full driver’s licence (NZ Class 1).

Ø  Have NZ citizen/permanent resident status or hold a valid NZ work visa.
