Position Available - CROP PROTECTION SPECIALIST

Full Time - Permanent.

We are an established Crop Protection Structure company operating in and around the Bay of Plenty. Most of our client structures are on kiwifruit orchards, although we also work with clients who grow other crops.  

We are looking for a reliable, motivated person to perform general construction and labouring work within one of our Crop Protection Structure teams.  You will assist in the construction and repair of crop protection structures and orchard canopies; working with shelter cloth, fencing wire, rope, steel cables, poles and heavy machinery; as well as a variety of hand and power tools. Experience in erecting Artificial Shelters would be an advantage, although an applicant with a history in Farm Fencing or Kiwifruit Structures would be considered also.

Work is varied between large and small jobs. There is an opportunity to expand your skill set and become a key team member. Wages will be based on your competencies and experience. 

Applicants must:

Ø  Be highly motivated, energetic with a positive can-do attitude.

Ø  Love working in a team.

Ø  Be reliable, dependable with excellent time management skills.

Ø  Be able to follow directions and willing to complete tasks to a high standard.

Ø  Have a willingness to learn as you go.

Ø  Have a high standard of physical fitness with excellent stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.

Ø  Be comfortable working outdoors all year round and comfortable working at heights up to 8m.

Ø  Have a clear understanding of the safety hazards of working at heights and working around heavy machinery.

Ø  Be drug-free.

Ø  Have a current full driver’s licence (NZ Class 1).

Ø  Have NZ citizen or NZ permanent resident status or hold a valid NZ work visa.
